Prof Samdhong Rinpoche

Chairman of the Hind Swaraj Centenary Commemoraton Committee, Prof Samdhong Rinpoche is a scholar, philosopher, fully ordained Buddhist monk and an ardent follower of Mahatma Gandhi. He has earned high esteem among Indian academic and intellectual circles as a visionary with a rare insight into civilisational, cultural and spiritual issues facing human kind. He was nominated on the boards of Indian Council for Philosophical Research, Asiatic Society of West Bengal, Sikkim Research Institute, Central Institute for Buddhist Studies, and was elected as President of the Association of Indian Universities. As Vice-Chancellor of the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies in Varanasi, Deemed University, he shaped it as a unique institution of scholarship, learning and cultural preservation. Preservation of traditional heritage and to re-establish a nonviolent human society has been the life-long mission of Rinpoche. Prof Samdhong Rinpoche is the first Kalon Tripa (Chairman of the Tibetan Cabinet) to be elected directly by the Tibetan people. Throughout his life, Samdhong Rinpoche has played an active role in shaping the future of Tibetan society and Central Tibetan Administration.











Dr Kapila Vatsyayan
Dr Kapila Vatsyayan is a leading scholar of civilizational and classical India, its literaure , traditions, dance and Indian art and architecture. Dr Vatsyayan is the author of many books including The Square and the Circle of Indian Arts, Bharata: The Natya Sastra, and Matralaksanam. She was the founder-director of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (Indira Kalakendra) in Delhi. She has also served as secretary to the government of India and the Ministry of Education, department of Arts and Culture, in which she was responsible for the establishment of many institutions of higher education in India. She served briefly as a Rajya Sabha MP in March 2006, and was reappointed to the Rajya Sabha in April 2007.She has been honored with Sangeet Natak Fellowship and most recently by UNESCO’s psecial Mahatma Gandhi Award ( 2009).










Dr Anthony Parel
Dr Anthony Parel is Emeritus Professor of Political Science at the University of Calgary, where he taught Political Philosophy from 1966 to 1994. Among his many publications are Gandhi: Hind Swaraj and Other Writings, ed. (Cambridge University Press, 1997), Gandhi, Freedom and Self-Rule, ed. (Lexington Books, USA, 2000), and Gandhi’s Philosophy and the Quest for Harmony (Cambridge University Press, 2006).

Prof Ashis Nandy
Prof Ashis Nandy is Chairperson of the Committee for Cultural Choices and Global Futures. He is a celebrated political psychologist, social theorist, and activist who has served as Director of the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies. His numerous published works explore the social and psychological dimensions of violence, colonialism, nationalism, and secularism.

Ela R Bhatt
Born in 1933, Ela R Bhatt, Founder of Self Employed Women's Association (SEWA), Ahmedabad, is a world's leading pioneer in organizing entrepreneurial women's power in grassroots development. SEWA is a trade union with more than 1.1 million members, and its Cooperative Bank has an outreach of 3 million women. A former Member of the Indian Parliament Rajya sabha and of the Planning Commission, she founded and served as chair for Women's World Banking, the International Alliance of Home-based Workers (HomeNet), Street Vendors (StreetNet). She has received several awards, including Padmashree, Padmabhushan, the Ramon Magsaysay, the Right Livelihood Awards and Légion d’honneur by France.

Prof UR Ananthamurthy
Prof UR Ananthamurthy, member of HSCC, is a highly respected thinker, author and educationist known for his social commitment and as an important representative of the 'Navya' or the new movement in the literature of the Kannada language. As a writer he is known far beyond this language boundary. To Ananthamurthy's central themes belongs the examination of the caste system, religious rules and traditions as well as the ambivalent relationship between the handed down cultural value system and the new values of a changing world. The filming of his novel Samskara in 1970 started a new wave of author films in India. He has served as Vice-Chancellor of the Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam; Chairman of the 'National Book Trust'; President of the Sahithya Academy and Chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. Recipient of highest literary honour, the 'Jnanpeeth Award' (1994), Prof Ananthamurthy was honoured by the Government of India with 'Padma Bhushan'.

Achan Sulak Sivaraksa
Initator of a number of social, humanitarian, ecological and spiritual movements and organizations in Thailand, Sulak Sivaraksa is one of the fathers of International Network of Engaged Buddhists established in 1989 with leading Buddhists like HH the XIV Dalai Lama, the Vietnamese monk and peace-activist Thich Nhat Hanh and the Theravada Bhikkhu Maha Ghosananda as its patrons. He is a leading voice of dissent in Thailand. The Social Science Review founded and edited by him had become 'the intellectual voice' of the nation. He directed his energies towards the development of sustainable models for a rapidly changing economic and social environment. Sulak Sivaraksa was arrested for lèse majesté, in 1984 and in 1991. He was awarded the Swedish Right Livelihood Award in 1995, the UNPO (Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation) award in 1998, and the Indian 'Millennium Gandhi Award' in 2001.











Dr Ralph Summy
Dr Ralph Summy is a peace scholar, educator, and activist. He taught at the political science department of The University of Queensland for 32 years and served as Director of the Matsunaga Institute for Peace at the University of Hawai’i. His most recent book (2008) was a co-edited work, Nonviolence: An Alternative for Defeating Global Terror (ism). He has taught Hind Swaraj for many years. Founder Editor of “The Alternatives”.










Dr Anna Alomes
Dr Anna Alomes is a philosopher with interests in nonviolence, reconciliation, restorative practices, human rights, exceptional leadership, and applied ethics (particularly medicine, pharmacy, nursing and police ethics). She has served as Director of the Centre for Applied Philosophy and Ethics (CAPE) at the University of Tasmania and the World Institute for Nonviolence and Reconciliation, a non-profit, non-governmental organisation.

Dr Douglas Allen
Dr Douglas Allen is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Maine, USA. His areas of specialization are Indian philosophy (especially Hinduism and Buddhism), Mahatma Gandhi, the phenomenology of religion (especially Mircea Eliade), political philosophy (especially Karl Marx), and comparative East-West philosophy. His most recent books are Myth and Religion in Mircea Eliade, Comparative Philosophy and Religion in Times of Terror, and The Philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi for the Twenty-First Century.

Sami Awad
Sami Awad is the Executive Director of Holy Land Trust, a Palestinian not-for-profit organization established in Bethlehem in 1998.It works to strengthen, encourage and improve the Palestinian community through working with children, families, youth, and the non-governmental organization (NGO) community. He has also worked with the Palestinian Center for the Study of Nonviolence in Jerusalem.

Eilda Zaghmout
Eilda Zaghmout is an executive officer of the Holy Land Trust in Bethlehem, Palestine. She became a member of Holy Land Trust’s Core Group in the year 2003 after taking the first training in nonviolence and later worked with the Trust’s Peace & Reconciliation Department.

Dr Sushil Mittal
Dr Sushil Mittal is the (Founding) Director of the Mahatma Gandhi Center for Global Nonviolence and tenured Associate Professor of Hinduism at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. His publications include Development and Change in India (1993), Surprising Bedfellows: Hindus and Muslims in Medieval and Early Modern India (2003), The Hindu World (2004), Religions of South Asia: An Introduction (2006), and Studying Hinduism: Key Concepts and Methods (2008).

Nand Kishore Acharya
Nand Kishore Acharya is one of India’s leading Hindi literary figures. He is a poet, playwright, essayist, and critic. His works have extensively explored the thought of Mahatma Gandhi. Currently he is engaged in the creation of an Encyclopedia of Nonviolence.

Farrukh Sohail Goindi
Farrukh Sohail Goindi is Founder and Chairman of the Foundation for Democracy in Lahore, Pakistan. He has participated in and led nonviolent struggles for democracy in Pakistan. Currently he is a senior consultant for PTV and a leading voice in Pakistan for nonviolence. He has translated Hind Swaraj in Urdu, which will be released by his publication house Jumhoori Books, as well as a translation of Mahatma Gandhi’s autobiography, Talaash-e-Haq.

PV Rajagopal
PV Rajagopal is founder-chairman of Ekta Parishad, a movement for tribal justice and land rights, and Vice-Chairman of Gandhi Peace Foundation. In 2008 he organized a Satyagraha for tribal land rights in which 25,000 tribals from central India undertook a month-long march to Delhi.

Dr Partha Nath Mukherji
Dr Partha Nath Mukherji is Professor, SK Dey Chair at the Institute of Social Sciences, New Delhi. He has formerly served as Director of the Tata Institute and President of the Indian Sociological Society.

S Kullandaisam
Dr S Kullandaisam is Director, Gandhi Peace Foundation, Chennai. He has developed a programme at the Peace Foundation for youth.

Pandurang Hegde
Pandurang Hegde works to preserve the forests of north Karnataka. In 1983 he began a movement called Appiko (Hug the Trees) to prevent the felling of trees in the Western Ghats Region. The movement has had a significant impact on the preservation of forests. He was previously involved in the Chipko movement and worked with Oxfam in Madhya Pradesh.

DL Seth
DL Seth is National Fellow at the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla. He is the former Director of the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi, and a member of the Backward Castes and Classes Commission. As a founder of Lokayan, a centre promoting exchange between social movements and scholars, Prof D L Sheth has done pioneering social science research

Fadi Abi Allam
Fadi Abi Allam is the President of the Permanent Peace Movement, a non-profit organisation dedicated to peace building in Lebanon and the wider Middle East. He is a trainer in conflict resolution and Regional Coordinator of the Arab Partnership for Conflict Preservation and the Nonviolence Network in Arab countries. He is also a Steering Committee Member of the Arab Network for Tolerance.

Dr Vinya Ariyaratne
Dr Vinya Ariyaratne is the Executive Director of Sarvodaya, one of the most well known Asian grassroots and community based movement. He is also a lecturer in Community Medicine Faculty of Medical Sciences University of Sri Jayewardenepura in Sri Lanka. He is a Medical Doctor by profession. Dr Vinya is a son of Dr AT Ariyaratne the founder and President of the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement in Sri Lanka, inspired by Gandhian philosophy

Dr Tint Swe
Dr Tint Swe is Minister of Information in the Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s NLD Govt-in-Exile. He lives in Delhi. A practicing medical doctor, he is actively engaged in the Burmese people’s nonviolent movement for democracy.

Hiromi Bakshi
Hiromi Bakshi comes from a reputed Japanese business family who made India her home. Married to Shri Lalit Bakshi, a businessman, intellectual and social leader in building Indo-Japan relationship, Hiromi and Lalit are silent supporters of the cause of nonviolence. Hiromi lives both in Japan ad in India and regularly goes to and lives in the villages of Arunchal Pradesh to teach women simple, household technology of making coal out of bamboo and other house hold needs.

Dr Claude Alvares
Among the founders of Goa Foundation, Multiversity and Third World Network, Dr Claude Alvares has been an earlier and leading critic of Green and White Revolutions. With the background of scholarly work on science and technology, he engaged himself in taking up environmental protection issues and fought many a successful battles that restrained polluting industries; caused to enact laws in protection of coastal environment, and anti-dumping laws to prevent hazardous wastes and industrial pollutants. He has been an investigative journalist, writer and a fighter turned a leading publisher and writer for alternative literature based on authentic Indian knowledge and traditions. His most recent work is “100 Years of Violence”.

DR Kaarthikeyan
Patron of Life Positive Foundation and connected closely with many a spiritual personalities, DR Kaarthikeyan is former Chief of Central Bureau of Investigation; Director General of Boarder Security Force; DG of Human Right Commission and Chief of the Taskforce that investigated Rajiv Gandhi Murder case. He is closely involved with social cause, education and movements for justice and protection of Human Rights.

Shubhamurty
Shubhamurty is presently Chairman of Bihar Bhoodan Yagya Committee. A youth leader in seventies and eighties, he was among the few with whom the youth wing of the Sarvodaya movement started in early seventies. Actively involved in the Bihar Movement, Shubhamurty, as a satyagrahi during those turbulent days, went to jail and later continued public awareness and constructive work in his home district of Saharsa in Bihar.

Kalpana Shashtri
Kalpana Shashtri works among women in Saharsa district of Bihar.

Shivanadabhai Jha and Sarla Bahen Jha
Shivanadabhai Jha and Sarla Bahen Jha are among the veterans of the Gandhian Sarvodaya movement. Through Gram Bharati ashram in Simultala in Bihar they have more than 5 decades of dedicated work among the rural poor and the landless. They have fought many a non-violent struggles and worked tirelessly for social and economic reforms and people’s power. Sarla Bahen has served as Secretary of All India Sarva Seva Sangh, and conducted and lead satyagraha to prevent cow slaughter.

Santosh Jha
He is the son of Sarla Bahen and Shivananda Bhai, Santosh has been involved in organizing people for constructive action and nonviolent struggles for social reforms. For past several years he is working in another part of Bihar among the youth organizing Sarvodaya village councils and undertaking relief and rehabilitation work along side his parents after the devastating deluge caused sudden change of track by one of the biggest rivers of India, the Kosi River.

Prof Minoru Kasai
Prof Minoru Kasai is among the rare thinkers in the line of Ananda kumarswamy and Prof AK Saran. He belongs to that receding school of philosophers who have gone to the roots of traditions and cultures in order to see through civilisational changes and interpret them on the grounds of reason that is sustained by truth. Born on June 13, 1932, he retired in March 2001 from ICU, where he worked for 34 years. Major publications (in English): Gandhi and the Contemporary World (Poona: Center for Communication Studies, 1980) "Studying Gandhi in Universities" (1995); "Culture and Development: A Japanese Reflection and Observation" (1997); "The Cosmos and Humanity as a Healing Family" (1999); "With God, With Heaven-Earth and With the People: Discovery of Givenness of Reality" (2002).

SM Mohamed Idris
President and founder of Third World Network, Citizens International and the Consumers Association of Penang, Malaysia, he has inspired many a young and vibrant intellectuals of former colonised countries to take up the challenge of decolonising our minds and establishing authentic intellectual traditions. He has is a father figure and staunch supporter of such intellectual and nonviolent grassroots movements that bring change of heart and mind. He was awarded Right Livelihood Award, besides many other honors.

Fr George Gispert-Sauch SJ
A theologian of high esteem and repute, Fr Gorge Gispert-Sauch is a scholar and teacher who brings out the best from all religious philosophies in the manner the Mahatma thought it the duty of theologians and religious teachers. Fr George teaches Hind Swaraj to his students: MA in Sanskrit (University of Bombay) and PhD in Theology (Catholic University of Paris) on theme of ananda in the Upanishads. Fr George has 42 years of postgraduate teaching experience in the Vidyajyoti College of Theology in Delhi. He is born in Spain in 1930, studying and working in India since 1949.

Reema Abdalla
Reema Abdalla is from Lahore, Pakistan and is actively involved in the activities of the Foundation for Democracy in Pakistan. She has experienced worst of war ravages violence around her in her home country Lebanon and is a strong advocate for nonviolence.

Natwar Thakkar
Natwar Thakkar is working since past forty years in the conflict zone of North-East, Nagaland in India to promote goodwill and emotional integration through voluntary social service on Gandhian lines. Thakkar went to Nagaland in early 1955 and established the Nagaland Gandhi Ashram.

Kashif Hameed
Kashif Hameed works in the violence torn area of Waziristan in Pakistan; conducts dialogues among tribals of the region on peace, nonviolence, democratisation and good governance besides the issues of immediate concerns. He is Executive Coordinator of Center for Research, Communication & Dialogue (CRCD), Islamabad and Coordinator Al-Sehar Foundation, a Cultural organisation Kashif has been involved in facilitating CRCD and Tribal Network in the launch and implementation of a broad based peace programme for the tribal areas of Pakistan worked also on a documentary on traditional musicians and dancers of Lahore.

Dr Shinya Ishizaka
Dr Shinya Ishizaka is a researcher at the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Kyoto University, Japan. His major publications in English include "The Anti-Tehri Dam Movement as a New Social Movement and Gandhism" (2007) and "Politics of 'Sublimation': The Gandhian Environmental Movement in Contemporary India" (2008). Dr Shinya along with another colleague and student of Prof Minoru Kasai, Dr Ayoko Uno are planning Hind Swaraj project in Japan. Born on October 24, 1976 Dr Shinya is a student of Prof Minoru Kasai and teaches Hind Swaraj to the youth in Japan.

Martina Pignatti Morano
Born in 1979, Martina Pignatti works with an Italian NGO - Un Ponte per... (A bridge to...) with the aim of empowering Iraqi and Middle-Eastern civil society organisations. She supports the activities of the Iraqi nonviolent movement LAONF, and of the Palestinian grassroots nonviolent resistance. She works in Italy for the establishment of Civilian Peace Corps; involved in the international campaign of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions on Israel for the respect of international law and human rights.

Kieth May
Keath May is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mahatma Gandhi Center for Global Nonviolence at James Madison University, USA. A farmer by profession, Keath is an active community leader who has involved the community around the University in development of the Gandhi Center due to his deep interest and commitment to Mahatma Gandhi’s thought.

Pracha Hutanuwatra
A close colleague of Achan Sulak Sivaraksa, Pracha heads the Wongsanit Ashram a Thai eco-settlement and hub for social change near Bangkok. Besides many educational and awareness building programmes for social change and sustainable development, Wangsanit Ashram organizes Ecovillage Design Education (EDE) and Training courses in Thailand and in many different urban and rural contexts around the world promoting a more holistic way of living.

Somchai Viriyabunditkul
Somchai is a journalist and owner of a reputed publishing company. She supports nonviolent initiatives and is closely associated with constructive dissent in Thailand and with movements for social change, ecological living and constructive alternatives. She works closely with Achan Sulak Sivaraksa.

Dr YP Anand
Dr YP Anand is the former Chairman of Indian Railway Board and the former Director of National Gandhi Museum, Delhi, and Fellow, Indian National Academy of Engineering; Institution of Engineers (India). In 2004 he was honoured as an ‘Engineering Personality’ by Institution of Engineers (India). Authored books on ‘Non-motorised Transport of India: Current Status and Policy Issues’ (1996), ‘Transport Energy Nexus – Towards Sustainability and Mahatma Gandhi’s Works and Interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita.

Tenpa C Samkhar
Tenpa Samkhar is the Executive Director of Active Non-Violence Education Centre (ANEC), Dharamshala. Her is also the former Tibetan Cabinet Secretary for Political Affairs and former Health Secretary of Tibetan Government in exile in India. He is a Fulbright scholar.

Dr Vandana Shiva
Right Livelihood Award winner Dr Vandana Shiva is physicist, ecologist, feminist, seed activist, campaigner for traditional knowledge and a leading Indian voice on the global plane on issues of global warming, Intellectual Property Rights, and rights of women and farmers.

Prof Suresh Sharma
Former Director of the Center for the Studies of the Developing Societies, Delhi, Prof Suresh Shrama has retranslated Hind Swaraj in Hindi. Dr Sharma is among the serious scholars on the social movements in India.

Dena Mariam
Founder Director of Global Peace Initiative of Women, New York, Dena is engaged in peace dialogue among people from Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine and among religious and spiritual leaders from different parts of the world.

Ram
Ram is from Chennai, has done a new Tamil edition of Hind Swaraj. He is Chief of Samanvaya, an organization engaged in research in issues of development and public advocacy for traditional Indian knowledge system.

Pradip Dixit
Pradip Belongs to Azadi Bachao Andolan (Save Freedom Movement) and operates from Sewagran Ashram in Central India. Along with a dedicated team of young activists and campaigners, they have made some new experiments in Khadi, the Hand spun-hand-woven textile to make it self sustainning. Besides they are engaged in research and publication of literature that can establishes the worth and value of Swadeshi as defined by Mahatma Gandhi

Rajiv Dixit
A powerful public opinion maker and speaker on traditional Indian systems, its subversion by the British colonial rule and present plight of the India ad in particular of the peasant due to historical wrongs and now due to the take over of Indian self reliance by MNCs, Rajiv has a patriotic and nationalist fervour about his public discourses which are also available on CDs. He regularly appears on the Astha Channel and works closely with famous Yoga teacher Swamy Ramdev. Rajiv has been one of the founders of the Azadi Bachao Andolan.

SR Hiremath
A technocrat by education and earlier well placed professional carrier in the USA, Hiremath came back to India to work among the poor and environmentally displaced in the Karnataka, his native place. An environmentalist from Hind Sw.araj perspective, he has fought many a nonviolent battles for the rights of the poor and for restoration of environmentally sound practices and laws.

Prashant Verma
As a young man Prashant came out of the straight jacketed of education and involved himself in meaningful campaigns including Tibetan movement and worked closely under the guidance of Achan Sulak Sivaraksa. He is Director of Deer Park Institute in the foothills of the Himalayas, near Dharamshala.

Pawan Kumar Gupta
A businessmen turned social, cultural and educational, writer, public speaker and activist, Founder Director of SIDDH, Pawan and his team have developed educational experiments that uses students’ neighborhood and environment as the primary resource for education ad skills development, so that the youth develops a positive attitude towards his/her village, neighborhood and one;s own culture rather than a self image of backwardness.

Manish Sisodia
A leading activist using Right To Information (RTI) as an instrument for empowering local self governance and self rule, Manish has built up Swaraj Campaign. Through public meetings at grassroots levels among ordinary people he interacts with them for creating public awareness about what constitutes their effective role in making governance answerable, accountable and participatory. Manish is engaged in exploring through public particiaption and use of RTI the facility and limits of constitutional means for bringing the rule closer to people.

Prof MP Mathai
A Gandhian scholar and actiist, Prof Mathai is Editor of Gandhi Marg (English) published by Gandhi Peace Foundation. He is Chaiman of Kerala Sarvodaya Mandal and Member of the Governing Board of Gandhi Peace Foundation.

Dr Ashok Vaidya
Dr Vaidya is a memer of Indian Drugs Advisory Board and a known scientist. He is currently the Research Director of Kasturba Health Society and Adjunct Professor in Microbiology and Immunology at Drexel University in Philadelhia. He is recognised as a leader in Clinical Pharmacology and Ayurvedic research. He was recently awarded with 'Lifetime Achievement' at the 5th Nutraceutical Summit held at New Delhi for his lifelong research and leadership.

HE BP Singh
A Gandhian and writer among senior bureaucrat, presently Governor of Sikkim, Shri Balmik Prasad Singh was formerly Secretay of the Ministry of Culture and then Home Secretary GOI. During his Chairmanship of the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Shri B P Singh contibuted considrably in building up this unique institution of learning.

Kantibhai Shah
A veteran Gandhian Sarvodaya leader from Gujarat, Kanibhai has been a laing ideologue and interpreter of Sarvodaya Philosophy, Gandhian vision and Hind Swaraj. A leading part of the Sarvodaya movement since 50s, he has brought to Gujarati readership some of the major New Age thinkers through translating their works. He is responsible as editor for establshing a Sarvodaya bi-weekly, Bhoomiputra, as one of te leading Gujarati journal. He has established a ashram in the tribal regon of South Gujarat.

Himanshu Kumar
Dantewada Ashram of Himanshu Kumar in Chattisgarh, bulldozed by the state police recently, has attracted nation’s attention for its Gandhian experiment in nonviolence and satyagraha for the just cause and mitigation of routine killings, torture, arson and dispossession of the tribal community in the name of Maoist and anti-Maoist armed campaigns. Himanshu has steadfastly taken the challenge of violence and in that process become target of the vested interests of the politics of violence and exploitation of the tribal. He has vast support among the people, and put the political leadership o the test of democratic and constitutional norms and rules.

Vinay Aditya
A technocrat and a Printer, Vinay Aditya Aditya is a well recognized scientific astrologer and editor of an international journal. Vinay is a strong and selfless supporter of the cause of Swaraj awareness.

Manish Jain
Through Shikshantar, Mnish is engaged with a team in experiment in deschooling education. Nirosion
Associated with Sewalanka, Nirosion has the first hand experience of ethnic devide in Srilanka. His story of facing it from within the peer group at the Jafna University makes a learning experience in neutralizing violence and hatred through friendship, love and compassion.

Lavanam
A senior Gandhian and Sarvodaya leader from Andhra Pradesh, Lavanam is has been engaged in the issue of Maoist violence and socio-economic justice for the tribal in Andhra Pradesh. He has been an active and leading member of the Bhoodan and Gramdan movement of Vinoba Bhave like many other Sarvodaya leaders. He was honored with Jamanalal Bajaj Award recently.

Dr Neema Vaishnav

Prof Prabodh Parikh
Prabodh Parikh is a Gujarati poet, short fiction writer and visual artist. He retired recently as Head of the Department of Philosophy at Mithibai College, Mumbai. His book of poems, Kaunsman, published in 1993, is a significant collection in Gujarati literature, representing thirty years of work in poetry. It won him several awards, including the Best Poetry Collection of 1993-94 (Gujarat Sahitya Akademi) and the GF Saraf Award for Best Gujarati Book in 1992-95.

Tenzin Tsundue
Tenzin Tsundue is a poet, writer, a noted Tibetan independence activist and the General Secretary of Friends of Tibet. Tsundue’s writings have appeared in various publications around the world including Gandhi Marg. Both as an activist and a writer, Tsundue fights tooth and nail, day and night and for the freedom of his country.

Sethu Das
Sethu Das is the Co-founder of Design & People and the founder of Friends of Tibet (India), a Tibet Support Group which was instrumental in taking Hind Swaraj to Tibetan settlements in association with Swaraj Peeth and conducting Hind Swaraj readings in the Tibetan community in exile in India.

Dr. Neema Vaishnava - She is a great personanality on the globe, She is working with NGO, community develovement,a well social lady, no word to explain about her. She is really a highly moral attitute lady on the world. Helping nature, Gadhian thought , simple living n high thinking all that.
