Dr Kapila Vatsyayan is a leading scholar of civilizational and classical India, its literaure , traditions, dance and Indian art and architecture. Dr Vatsyayan is the author of many books including The Square and the Circle of Indian Arts, Bharata: The Natya Sastra, and Matralaksanam. She was the founder-director of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (Indira Kalakendra) in Delhi. Pandurang Hegde
Pandurang Hegde works to preserve the forests of north Karnataka. In 1983 he began a movement called Appiko (Hug the Trees) to prevent the felling of trees in the Western Ghats Region. They have fought many a non-violent struggles and worked tirelessly for social and economic reforms and people’s power. Sarla Bahen has served as Secretary of All India Sarva Seva Sangh, and conducted and lead satyagraha to prevent cow slaughter.
Santosh Jha
He is the son of Sarla Bahen and Shivananda Bhai, Santosh has been involved in organizing people for constructive action and nonviolent struggles for social reforms. For past several years he is working in another part of Bihar among the youth organizing Sarvodaya village councils and undertaking relief and rehabilitation work along side his parents after the devastating deluge caused sudden change of track by one of the biggest rivers of India, the Kosi River.
Prof Minoru Kasai
Prof Minoru Kasai is among the rare thinkers in the line of Ananda kumarswamy and Prof AK Saran. He belongs to that receding school of philosophers who have gone to the roots of traditions and cultures in order to see through civilisational changes and interpret them on the grounds of reason that is sustained by truth. Born on June 13, 1932, he retired in March 2001 from ICU, where he worked for 34 years. Dr Shinya Ishizaka is a researcher at the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Kyoto University, Japan. His major publications in English include "The Anti-Tehri Dam Movement as a New Social Movement and Gandhism" (2007) and "Politics of 'Sublimation': The Gandhian Environmental Movement in Contemporary India" (2008). Dr Shinya along with another colleague and student of Prof Minoru Kasai, Dr Ayoko Uno are planning Hind Swaraj project in Japan. Born on October 24, 1976 Dr Shinya is a student of Prof Minoru Kasai and teaches Hind Swaraj to the youth in Japan.

Prof Prabodh Parikh
Prabodh Parikh is a Gujarati poet, short fiction writer and visual artist. He retired recently as Head of the Department of Philosophy at Mithibai College, Mumbai. His book of poems, Kaunsman, published in 1993, is a significant collection in Gujarati literature, representing thirty years of work in poetry. It won him several awards, including the Best Poetry Collection of 1993-94 (Gujarat Sahitya Akademi) and the GF Saraf Award for Best Gujarati Book in 1992-95.
Tenzin Tsundue
Tenzin Tsundue is a poet, writer, a noted Tibetan independence activist and the General Secretary of Friends of Tibet. Tsundue’s writings have appeared in various publications around the world including Gandhi Marg. Both as an activist and a writer, Tsundue fights tooth and nail, day and night and for the freedom of his country.
Sethu Das
Sethu Das is the Co-founder of Design & People and the founder of Friends of Tibet (India), a Tibet Support Group which was instrumental in taking Hind Swaraj to Tibetan settlements in association with Swaraj Peeth and conducting Hind Swaraj readings in the Tibetan community in exile in India.
